Football Patriots.

On sunday, some people on my facebook had a go at me for not being ‘patriotic’ and not being excited about the football. But, in my opinion we have nothing to be proud of. I understand and accept that most people will not agree with this view but if you please, I’d like the chance to back my opinion up before you judge me.
No, I am not talking nationally, I’m talking globally. Imagine, for just a few minutes that you are an alien from a far away planet. You’re looking down at Earth, seeing everything from the outside looking in. Would you like what you saw? Pain, Suffering, Death, Global Warming, Cruelty. These are just a few of the thing that first pop into mind for me. Please be honest, Was one of the first things you saw as your alien patriotism? If it was please don’t be afraid to comment saying so.
Maybe this is a case of the glass being half empty for me instead of half full? I just don’t and I never think I will understand how we can be so proud of the way our country and planet is living.
Death, War, Starvation, Suffering, Cruelty, Homelessness.
Can we really afford to be paying footballers millions of pounds to kick a ball? You tell me.

Pets.

I write this at my kitchen table with my faithful Cat Juno at my side. I know that Dogs are supposed to be a Man’s best friend but I tend to disagree. I find Cats much more comforting animals and warm to be around. But, I also know that Dogs purposefully comfort there owners when they sense they are upset, stressed or angry and Cat’s in general do not do it on purpose. But I sort of see this as a bonus on Cat’s. They cheer us up without even trying.
Something about Dogs just scares me. Don’t get me wrong, I love some. But the amount of damage they can do if they loose their temper scares me. I mean, if a Cat gets angry at you it scratches you and bites you… not much harm done. But dogs can kill you if they wanted to.
Juno means the world to me, I know a lot of people would find that sad or amusing but she’s always here for me. She waits for me to get home from college, huddles up next to me on cold nights and we keep each other warm.  I love Juno. And that’s honest love right there. (:
